Liverpool Draw Man U In FA Cup Third Round

Bitter rivals Manchester United and Liverpool have face a blockbuster of an FA cup third round after being tied together in the draw. Noel Gallagher of Oasis and Serge Pizzorno of Kasabian took the draw and the match is scheduled to the 8th/9th of January.

It was back in 2006 when the teams last faced each other when Liverpoolufabet เว็บออนไลน์อันดับ1 conquered United 1-0 in a match that was overshadowed by the badly broken leg injury of United’s Alan Smith. Recently appointed Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson says “It will be an excellent game of football and it’s a bit unfortunate that two premier league teams of the quality of united and us get drawn in the third round, I always feel that’s a bit sad.” Hodgson has never managed Liverpool in a battle against United.

Man U are the bookies clear favourites as out of the last 8 clashes, they have been victorious in 7. Hodgson is keeping his hopes up despite suffering a string of crippling defeats and losing his skipper Gerrard to injury and more recently his second skipper Carragher to a dislocated shoulder that could keep both of them out into the New Year.

Of all the ties in this years draw, this is the only one to pin two Premier League teams against each other. Critics have argued that this will cause a lower standard of football later in the competition. In a bizarre twist of events, Kasabian’s Serge drew his favourite team Leicester then Oasis’ Noel drew his hometown Manchester City out of the hat to play each other.
