Paper Football – How to Make One & How to Play

Sometime you may find yourself in a situation where you and a friend have a little time to kill, but not games or toys in sight. Besides that maybe the weather is lousy outside. You’re bored. What can you do? All you need is a piece of notebook paper or printer paper and a kitchen table or large desk. You can play an exciting game of paper football!

Fold your piece of paper horizontally (lengthwise). Now fold it again horizontally. You should now have a long and narrow piece of paper with two folds. Now start at one end of your paper and make a diagonal fold so that you have a triangle. The outside edge of your triangle should be even with the long edge of your paper.

Now make a fold straight down the length of the paper, conforming to the triangle shape you started with. Continue folding diagonal, then lengthwise forming a new triangle with each fold all the way down the length of the paper.

When you run out of paper to fold, you should have a small pocket formed at the end of the football. You will now tear off just enough of the excess paper so that it will fit into this pocket nice and tight.

I know, I know…it looks nothing like a football! It is a triangular shaped piece of paper. That’s OK…because the object here is to have some fun while killing a little time.

Now…find a table or desktop you can use as your football field. Your friend should sit at the opposite end of the table from you. Lay the football on it’s side and thump one of the corners in an effort to cause the football to spin and travel across the table. The object of the game is to try and thump the football in such a manner that it winds up sticking over the edge of the table on your opponent’s end. This is considered a touchdown.

If the football goes all the way off the end of the table, this is considered out of bounds. Once you have committed 3 out of bounds infractions, your opponent gets to stand the football on end and thump it through the air in an attempt to kick a field goal. You are required to put your two index fingers together and thumbs in the air to form a goalpost. If his kick is between the goal posts, it is good for 3 points. After ทางเข้า ufabet touchdowns the same procedure is followed for extra point kicks.

Of course touchdowns are worth 6 points and extra points are worth one. If the football goes out of bounds off the side of the table as opposed to the end, your opponent gets to take his thump from the spot where you thumped it out.

There are really no set-in-concrete rules when it comes to this game. If you want to change the rules to suit yourself, go ahead. Just make sure that you and your friend are on the same page when it comes to the rules before the game begins.
